WORLD ART FOUNDATION

building bridges amongst artists worldwide

I am new here after recieving many emails at facebook to join. Most of them touting how WAF can find me an agent or about this social network being a better in some way because it is connected to a real world gallery. I understand the strength in numbers dynamic and think it's great to share with all these other artists, but what I have not heard yet is how WAF has helped them. What is this number of 100 artists? Where are these agents? What is " paid "?
I would like to hear from the artists on these topics. Tell me your WAF success stories.

Thanks everyone

So i am beginning to understand the concept after re reading the WAF welcome statement a few times. We(the artists who have yet to be choosen) are collectively a talent pool of sorts. Some will eventually be given a chance to pay for WAF's service in showing at galleties and being networked to agents and dealers and the like. So my understanding is correct then I would lke to know which of the artists here are already part of the paying 100 and what has your experience with WAF been like thus far?
I am quite new - and I don't have any experience to share yet - but I share your questions - I am trying to look around, and find out - I guess it is a combination of interesting work & networking - I'm curious!
I can answer what WAF done for me. I was a very unknown artist, well hidden in the little city I live. Thank's WAF I was invited to participate on the Expo09 in California in June. I don't had the possibility to pay the fee and WAF find someone that actually paid for me. I send my artwork , I was accepted as member of WAF and my first exhibition in my life was in Brea California. :)
Very nice Margareth, Thank you!

So margreth, how was the expo? Did you sell any works or were you put in contact with an agent? Where was it? How many artists participate? I would love to have an experience like that someday. Thanks for your help again goid day

Pretty faces and promising careers tend to flash across our local firmament with the frequency of the shooting star_ and with about as much effect. But for less than one year the most consequential art organization ever formed has been the advent of the World Art Foundation under the leadership of Antoine and Jojo Marengo. With the assistance and inspiration of Michael Cheval one of the most important artist of this generation, the foundation has skyrocketed into a 40,000 member organization in over 50 countries in 5 continents

This first Expo was a good experience. I was given an honorable mention in the Master Artist category and that was very nice to receive, considering the level of artwork that was at the World Art Expo. I also learned a lot about other cultures and how other artists live and work from all over the world. It was great to see things from an artist's point of view from the other side of the world. That was very exciting as an American artist!

Now that WAF Expo 09 is no longer a vision but reality, Jojo Marengo the maverick founder of the WAF and his son Antoine who almost single handedly reinvented the way the art industry operates by forming the ten fundamental principals of actions of the World Art Foundation. The careers of the artists in the coming generations will owe a lot of their success to WAF.

World Art Foundation is truly remarkable - accomplishing so much is such a short time. Finally a place where artists are recognized and protected In fact when the history of the arts in the 21st century is definitively written, It’s possible that the record will show that Jojo and Antoine had the biggest impact on the largest number of artists lives and careers. Among living artists, this record of art achievement can be compared only to the art movement of the turn of the 20th century

Dear WAF Members,
WAF now is a real being. It's more than the sum of its members. It has life of its own and a flowing energy -common to all that exists- that permeated, and is permeating all of us who attended WAF09.

I'm very pleased and excited to be part of it. I'm a cell of it; and with the natural process of synergy I'm now part of the continuous change and evolving of this process. I want to make evident that we will no longer be the same after WAF09.

With our thoughts, actions, efforts and, above all, DREAMS, we are making WAF a powerful and successful being all over the world for the enhancement of Art and the Artists.

Art IS the future. Always has been this way. Since the paintings on the caves Art has been a magic invocation. The Neanderthals -the anthropologists believe- didn't have imagination, and that's why they disappeared. The Homo Sapiens, to the contrary, have used their mind to envision a future.

We now know with the recent advances in quantum physics that the mind is all that exists and that we are REALLY the universe contemplating Itself! Changing itself forever in this endless process of being the Observer who observes itself!

With this -literally- in Mind, I want to put in words the outstanding importance of our group, of our attendance to the exhibits: We all affect our mutual lives with our presence. We all are affected by the presence of others. And not only our presence, but our creations. Our particular codification of reality and the future.

Each one of us is a point of view, a Sacred Center of all that exists. We are Gods manifesting exuberant realities. Every human being is this awesome Truth and with art and their creators, players, performers, mediums, we are the most powerful beings in this Cosmical Game. We are manifesting forms that affect all and every single being that is capable to observe. We are sending messages, we are creating realities that by now are in canvas or metal or glass or stone...buy eventually will be the pulling forces of all
the humanity.

Art pulls the humanity towards a future. The future of humanity will be as the future envisioned by the artists that live NOW. We are responsible for this. Ours is a Sacred Job. We are the Magicians. With our interactions; with the interaction between the Magicians, we are creating a huge and powerful universe, an immense field of energy that is
right now creating or channeling visions to our minds and hearts, nurturing us.

I feel this in the point of my fingers, in my dreams, in my heart! I returned from California full of an immense creative and driving force that impels me to create -in an exponential way- than before meeting all my fellow artists (Magicians). I have an exploding Sun inside my soul! This is the law of the interactions, or maybe The Miracle of being together.

Thank you, WAF. Thank you, fellow DREAMERS and MAGICIANS.

My overall impression of the World Art Expo was very favorable. Free expression is the basis of artists' values and principles. To meet and talk with so many talented artists at the Expo made me feel very nourished and inspired. I was very touched by Michael Cheval and found him genuinely sweet and beautiful. There was a lot of talent at the Expo and we artists have many blessings. I'm thankful for the opportunity and I learned that there's beauty hidden everywhere.

When I arrived at the World Art Expo, there was a warm welcome from everybody. I could feel high flying dreams and had absolutely lovely conversations with people I had previously met via the internet.

Overall, it was a very charming and refreshing experience. While nothing is perfect, communication and shared dreams are everything. One of the highlights was meeting wonderful people from different countries, continents and backgrounds. And there was wonderful, wonderful art.

In the future, I just want to create with a big smile, and be a part of the World Art Foundation exhibitions. It's necessary to exchange experiences and learn from each other, I want to stay in contact with World Art Foundation members.

I had a great time throughout the World Art Expo. I met many wonderful people and it was a very nice experience. I'm starting a partnership with a gallery in Las Vegas and that was very positive. Meeting new people from different cultures was very interesting and I believe that art is a universal language.

The World Art Foundation will continue to grow with patience, communication and lots of hard work and I want to be part of it!

The World Art Expo was a remarkable success story. I believe it's important for artists to grow and develop, to maintain friendships and to exchange ideas. I congratulate Jojo, Antoine and all committee members who worked diligently on the Expo, from planning the meetings, exhibition areas, dinners and art get-togethers.

Everything about the Expo was positive. The highlight of the World Art Expo for me was receiving my Third Place Award for being an Emerging Artist. I want to continue to be part of the future of the World Art Foundation and I have donated two paintings to the Museum.

WAF gallery officially opened on Friday, April 10 with a professional art event that had the entire sumptuousness deserved by such an occasion. The paintings shown were sent by artists from around the world and the opening was a success! I can tell you, since I was there.

I spent the last week in California and had the opportunity to personally meet the founders of WAF. I would like to share some impressions.

First of all, I would like to express my gratitude towards the Marengo family (Jojo, Antoine, Sophie, Kall, and Meriam) for their extraordinary hospitality! I feel honored and privileged to have met such a wonderful family. The dedication of Jojo and Antoine -- the engine of WAF, as well as of all those involved and supporting WAF is absolutely amazing! Now I could better sense the goal of this REVOLUTIONARY concept for the art community that WAF is developing; it is really the first organization to implement the idea of creating a network of artists from around the world, giving them the possibility to connect with each other as well as creating the opportunity for an authentic exposure by connecting with galleries, curators, and so on. Through the beautiful new WAF gallery, artists from around the world have the unique opportunity to be represented in a professional way in California for now and in many other places around the world in the future. I can only congratulate and thank Jojo, Antoine, and all WAF members for this achievement! Nevertheless, it is each one of us who will make this organization unique and successful, as everything inside the group is -- and should be -- about friendship, group work, and creation. I did and will do my best to be part of this art community.

While in California, I was introduced to many sponsors behind WAF: Wayne, Wad, Marc, Joe….. all of them with a very powerful financial background but most importantly, all with an open heart and ready to help ART without any specific interest for rewards. Thanks to Jojo, I was also introduced to the owner of a major art gallery in Laguna Beach (present at the opening) and who offered me to exhibit in his gallery and took 11 of my paintings. Most importantly, I got a new friend and agent to represent me and my work from now on.

So, for you my fellow artists who know what it means to have someone professional representing your work, my experience with WAF and this new approach for promoting art and artists was unique, giving artists the freedom to invest energy in creating art, not in marketing. I end by thanking again Jojo, Antoine, and all the others who put such a hard work in creating this new organization for the world’s artists!

Thank you for your warm hospitality and the privilege to be part of the presentation evenings. I am very impressed with the quality and scope of the event. I am also grateful for the opportunity to meet with many wonderful people - artists, journalists, sponsors and curators. It was pleasure to meet Jojo Marengo and his son Antoine, HB Gallery owner Peggy Howell and the team of her gallery, brilliant artists Torreen West, Adam Scott Rote, Tristan Schane, Fernanda Natale-Reynolds, Norman Deesing and many others.
I was pleased to see the results of the WAF team and the Marengo family. Since I was in California three months ago, much had been done and the project ceased to be just a vision- it became a reality. I am vey impressed with the exhibition pavilions where the Expo 09 will take place. I was very impressed by the magnitude and size of the area provided for art exposition. I also visited the home of the future WAF museum. This bright spacious building can become a great museum created by the artists and, eventually, become a unique place to hold future events .

Once again I want to express my gratitude and admiration of the whole WAF team and personally to Mr. Marengo for their courage and dedication. What they’re doing is truly unique. Not surprisingly, there are people who doubt the reality of the WAF exhibitions. The project really is like a fairy tale, it's too good to be true. However, it is the truth and I confirm it. WAF is not a fantasy, these are people working 24 hours a day, an incredibly creative and well educated. People, who love the arts, care about the artists and know how to combine the useful with the pleasant.

I have just arrived back from California after an incredible four days with a smile pasted from ear to ear.
My deepest gratitude to Jojo Marengo & his son Antoine for the Dinner held at the La Vi en Rose Restaurant on Wednesday, the evening was a phenomenal success with sales of my work and an introduction to Galleries in Orange County. Michael Cheval & I were able to tour the facilities
and were quite enthused by the reality of events the WAF has been stating on their site. I am looking
forward to participating in this cause & will be 100% behind the WAF mission. I thank Mr. Marengo
once again for being true to his word & such a distinguished host.

I want to express my deepest thanks to the generosity of the Marengo family members and the WAF organization for existing and most of all for giving hope and opening new doors in the complex world of Art, especially for new talents like me

As an fast ascending emerging artist, I know how hard it is to climb the ladder towards a dream, specially when not always it’s possible to afford certain fees requested from marvelous Gallerists and innovative Art Directors…. WAF believed in me, believed in my talent, and they provided me with a sponsorship to enable me to exhibit in the U.S. and that is one dream come true to me… this was the next step in my ladder of dreams…. Thanks to their ambitious initiative that goes beyond frontiers, I have been given the chance to share my art to the world’s eyes.

Thank you with all my heart,
Sincerely,

I appreciate what you and your family have done for artists and the unique opportunity you give us to be ourselves outside of the dog-eat-dog that the art world is. I personally couldn't bother to take place in it. The only reason for me joining your organization is because you give something different, authentic and inspiring. Please continue what you are doing, even if people are not answering. Have faith, believe, there are so many artist who need the support. and help that you provide. So many who have talent and give up and are bitter and broken at the end. Art isn’t about numbers and money. It is about creating. You say that your efforts are rewarded and that you have helped many people achieve goals that probably would have been very difficult to achieve otherwise. Look at those results. …

Think of this, what if what you have spent your time creating nurtures the likes of extraordinary gifts like Michelangelo. What if without you one special artist would never reach his or her artistic greatness because you had decided that numbers are more important than people and talent and art.

This is a time to ground in your beliefs and hold your ground. You where not wrong and giving weight to the news is disrespecting your efforts and the people you have already helped and the countless that will benefit from your efforts. Is it more important to have millions of mediocre artists or the cream of the crop and a stellar reputation? Please, continue and count your blessings. With kindness and respect, Jade Hullen

Some comments of WAF members as featured in ht e World Book of the Masters

Anja Walnielsen
”For quite some time I tried to make my art in a way that I thought people wanted it to be...but I eventually decided to stay true to myself because I simply couldn´t enjoy being creative in any other way.” It was on that day that she went from that four year old mindset of painting flowers to becoming an artist.
To help achieve her dream of taking her art to the world, Anja recently became a member of the World Art Foundation (WAF). She likes that the organization is more then just a listing of artists, that the WAF is actively arranging exhibitions and matching artists from around the world.

Latife Warshawsky
Latife Warshawsky likes to describe herself as a “visual column” artist. Inspired by the environmental, social, and political issues of society, she uses her talents to interpret and portray her surroundings. This gives her work a common reference point for viewers to begin their appreciation and exploration with. This desire to create a common artistic language is one of the reasons that she was attracted to the World Art Foundation (WAF) “(A) true WAF artist can become global - The world we live in other science is becoming global.”

Birgit Huttemann-Holz
With all of this inspiration, Birgit has become a multi-disciplined painter (she uses beeswax, pigments, fire, and oils) of both landscapes and inscapes. Although separate topics, the subjects have a relationship in tone and emotion as Birgit explains “…both are holding nostalgia, mournful tunes, and lyrics. They are a sentiment.” The way she represents these moods though is quite different.
A recently inducted member of the World Art Foundation (WAF), Birgit speaks excitedly of the opportunity the organization presents to connect artists who can “communicate, exchange ideas, find inspiration, organize, and develop strong interests.”

Elazaetha Novak
I became a member of the World Art Foundation because of its goals. Let me mention just this one: Building a Bridge between Artists from All Over the world. The benefits of the World Art Foundation are the possibility to meet extraordinary artists from all over the world and to exhibit with them at as many places as possible. It could give stimulus to artists and promote values that are underestimated by art theoreticians within the new age philosophy. It would be great if WAF could initiate unique development and quality in art. The Wofle Expo09 in Callifonia achieved its goals thanks to the excellent and enthusiastic work of Jojo Marengo and Antoine Marengo. It puts a cornerstone to the World Art Foundation and it is important to continue with its annual exhibitions in the future in order to make it a tradition.
Flora Roberts
Flora joined the World Art Foundation (WAF) for a variety of reasons. There is the opportunity to make a connection with other artists: “We shared a common goal and pursued similar interests.” There is also a strong opportunity with the WAF for an artist to build their brand. That is particularly important for an artist who may not be “struggling” but who has yet to be able to completely support themselves with their talents. As Flora explains “My goal is to be able to support myself through my artworks. To lose the worry so to speak and be an artist.”
Marina Maurao
Marina’s upcoming schedule is filled with many of those ’good things’ balanced across creation and exhibition. She is currently at work on My Dream and I while at the same time preparing for exhibitions in Marbella, Spain; London; and the Portuguese Academy of Dressage. She is also excited about the opportunities involved with the World Art Foundation (WAF) – ”They listen to their member’s opinions and ideas, with the purpose to better promote and show the works.”
Gariella Garza Padilla
A recent member of the World Art Foundation, Gabriela aims to share respect for art and artists, to meet others in the industry and to celebrate art. She believes that artists are magicians and by interacting with each other, artists are nurtured and inspired, and create a very powerful universe together. She says that being part of the World Art Foundation and Expo has inspired her to create, as if she has an exploding sun inside her soul. "Painting has brought me a lot of joy, and it still does," she says. "I want to live forever! Maybe that's why I paint, my paintings will outlive me."
Robert Cobb
For thirty-five years, Robert Cobb shared his art insights with students in Illinois. Now, thanks to his association with the World Art Foundation (WAF), this former art teacher is sharing his art work with the world. It wasn’t just the exposure that Cobb (who already is a part of over one hundred and fifty collections) was after, it was the opportunity to be ”Associating with some of the best artists in the world, meeting to discuss art, to exhibit work, and form friendships in the spirit of cameraderie.”
Greg Coffelt
Because his art is so creative and labor intensive, Coffelt is excited by the opportunities presented to him through the World Art Foundation (WAF). “For an emerging artist it is all about exposure, WAF provides this and more. WAF also supports its members with very good venues, experienced and successful artists who play a part with their and knowledge of the art business.”

Currently, Coffelt is working on a life-sized sculpture of a female and he hopes that through the WAF he’ll be able to continue working on this scale. “My goals for the future are to create many more sculptures…I would like to do a large sculpture of two women, back to back creating an arch, possibly for a public entity.”
